Decentralized installation technology combined with application-oriented drive and communication functions
The new MOVIFIT® system combines the established advantages of SEW-EURODRIVE decentralized installation technology with modern, application-oriented
drive and communication functions.
Demands on materials handling technology
For years now, the components from SEW-EURODRIVE's decentralized drive system have been proving how compact and modular a
decentralized system structure can be in diverse applications. Nevertheless, drive engineering requirements are becoming increasingly
demanding even in this field. The following are examples of some of the demands made on materials handling technology:
- Reducing system investment costs: equipment costs, installation times, startup work
- Reducing planning costs by reusing standard conveyor components
- Reducing operating costs with fast maintenance and optimum diagnostic options
- Using new, ETHERNET-based communication technology
- Decentralized installation, with central data storage as an option
- Simple drive operation despite the increasing complexity of application functions
- Industry-specific unit versions
SEW-EURODRIVE solution
SEW-EURODRIVE accepted the challenge to develop a new decentralization concept: The new MOVIFIT® system. MOVIFIT® meets today's expectations of plant manufacturers and operators:
- New unit design with modern connection technology for sophisticated materials handling
- Supports new strategies for optimized system topologies
- New power sections with frequency inverters and motor control switches
- High level of integration
- Modern, decentralized communication technology (e.g. ETHERNET)
- Decentralized installation with central data storage
- Food grade unit versions
- Ready-to-use, flexible conveyor functions from SEW-EURODRIVE
- Straightforward project planning, fast maintenance and optimized diagnostics with efficient engineering tools
- Reduced investment and operating expenses. MOVIFIT® is the result of SEW-EURODRIVE's many years of experience in decentralized drive engineering. It is suitable for materials
handling applications in demanding fields, such as the automotive and food and beverage industries.
